We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again: vaping is one of the best ways to enjoy cannabis. The act of vaping doesn’t produce smoke, meaning you don’t get exposed to any of the harmful byproducts that come with combustion. This makes it a healthier option that’s gentler on users’ lungs and throat. Vapes are also as discreet as they are portable and preserve the maximum amount of terpenes in the plant, ensuring a smooth, delicious flavour.

Not all vapes, however, are created equal. Trying to figure out how to choose the right vape can be pretty confusing, so we decided to do all the heavy lifting for you. Introducing one of our all time favourite vapes: the mighty Black Mamba.

At a glance

The Black Mamba is a sleek dry herb conduction vaporizer. A conduction vaporizer works by placing your starting materials in direct contact with your heat source. In this case that translates to having a nice, generously-sized oven to contain your dry flower. The chamber is then heated up by a heating coil, producing vapour.

We love The Black Mamba’s soft touch rubber material and matte black exterior because 1) it feels good to hold in your hand and 2) it’s stylish. It relies on a single button and has a temperature gauge with LED lights on the side. The nozzle is made of food grade glass and is connected to the vape magnetically, with an internal glass based system to conduct the vapour. And yes, this is the glass you want. Glass is an ideal material for vapour conducting as it is less prone to corrosion, ensuring maximum flavour and potency.

The Black Mamba achieves a full charge within 3 hours and comes with a 1 year manufacturer warranty.

All in all this little beauty weighs approximately 190grams and measures 14.5 cm long, 4.6cm wide and 2.7cm high. You can take it with you just about anywhere.

Heating chamber

Many cheap vaporizers will use metals like aluminum for their heating chambers. This is problematic as aluminum chambers can leak at high temperatures.

The Black Mamba’s chamber is made of ceramic. Ceramic is widely considered to be one of the best chamber materials as it’s inert, meaning it doesn’t chemically react with compounds during the vaping process and is less prone to leakage. It’s also a superior heat conductor and burns at a higher overall temperature. This makes it less prone to oxidizing and corrosion, making it a safer option.

It’s also a very generously sized dry herb chamber. For comparison the PAX 3 model—sold for $199—has a chamber that contains 0.3g of dried flower. The Black Mamba, on the other hand, has a chamber built to house 0.65g of starting material.

Temperature and activation time

The Black Mamba has 5 different preset temperatures built in, all falling in the 180°C to 220°C range. You can experiment to find the option that works best for you. Higher temperatures will tend to produce more vapour. Lower temperatures will produce less vapour but will retain more of the flavour of the plant.

At 20 seconds from start to vape it also has one of the fastest activation times on the market.

Pricing & accessories

With comparable models like the PAX series priced at $199+ it’s hard to find a quality vape for under $100. That’s why we’re so proud of The Black Mamba’s affordable price point. At a mere $69.99 CAD it’s an absolute bargain.

The Black Mamba also comes with a variety of accessories. These include:

1 x Black Mamba Vaporizer

2 x Glass mouthpiece with metal filters

1 x Packing tool

2 x Cleaning brush

1 x Tweezer

1 x USB charger

1 x User guide

You also have the option to purchase additional add-on accessories like the VGrinder ($39.95 CAD). This grinder is a two-part piece made from aircraft grade aluminum and features diamond cut teeth and a collection screen. It’s also backed by a lifetime manufacturer's warranty.
