You could say they are the two best vapes on the Canada Vaporizer market (well soon to be with the Pax 3) and how they shall be received by my fellow Canadians! This is the Great Canadian Vape showdown, Firefly 2 vs. Pax 3! Lots to talk about here as there are both premium portable vaporisers but they have a lot of important differences that I feel are critical in deciding which is best to buy. So lets give a little overview of each first and then talk about the differences between them and how they compare. Given to you by Namaste Vaporizers Canada. After all Namaste is a Canadian Vaporizer Company.
Pax 3 Canadas Stylish Vaporizer
First lets start by talking about the Pax 3, which has yet to launch publicly on the market. The Pax three we've already done an in-depth post on and the key points with the Pax 3 and upgrades from the Pax2 are faster heat up times, better battery life, a new smart-phone app and most importantly the ability for the Pax 3 to work with concentrates. The Pax 3 as with all Pax models that have been released is very small and sexy and a very portable unit. It is considered to be the Apple equivalent of a vaporizer. The Pax 3 works very well and is very simple to use. The simplicity of the unit is its strength but also its weakness. The Pax 3 is a conduction based vaporizer which means it uses a heating chamber, which essentially 'bakes' your herbs in the chamber. So during the session your material is being constantly heated and as a result the unit is not as efficient as a convection vaporizer like the Firefly 2. The Pax three is a great option if you're after a unit with style and function. It's reliable and performs well. The technology used for vaporizing though is not on par with that of the Firefly 2. Pax 3 is a great first vape if you have the budget. The Firefly two also being quite expensive as you will see is more of a connoisseur's vaporizer.
The Firefly 2 Canadas Hands on Vaporizer
The Firefly 2 is a full convection-based portable vaporizer. The Firefly 2 uses hot air, which is heated as it passes through a proprietary heating coil and glass assembly, penetrates through tiny little air holes in the bottom of the chamber and then follows through your dried herbs to extract the vapor. This method of heating of the materials is far more efficient because the materials are not being constantly heated while the unit is on. You could literally hold down the heater button and put your finger right in the chamber without feeling uncomfortable. That brings me to another very significant difference between the Firefly 2 and the Pax 3. While the Pax 3 comes with 4 options of built-in temperature settings (and further control available through the app), the Pax 3 will heat to and maintain a fixed temperature over the period of your session. Once the unit turns on and reaches the set temperature, all you have to do is inhale, exhale. The Firefly 2 on the other hand uses manual heat control. This means that as you take a draw, you engage the heater by touching either one or both of the capacitive touch sensors on the side of the unit. The ability to control the heater, along with the speed of your draw itself, offers a huge range of flavour and performance that you simply can not achieve from any other vaporizer in its class. The convection technology used with the Firefly 2 and the efficacy of the unit, combined with the ability to very intimately control your experience are the reasons that make this vaporizer very special and something that may appeal more to an experience vaporizer user.
Our Vaporizer Canada showdown conclusion
So to sum it up here guys, the Firefly 2 and the Pax 3 Vaporizer Canada ... is a shakes hand end game. They Vapes are both industry leading, high-quality portable Vapes and you really would not go wrong with either one. What you need to think about if you're going to purchase either unit is how you're going to use it. Since the Firefly 2 requires you to be involved in the process of heating and vaping your materials, it is less discrete for on-the go use than the Pax 3. It will however offer superior efficiency and flavor. The Firefly 2 is also compatible with concentrates through the use of the Firefly 2 Concentrate Pads. Then you have the Pax 3 which is small and sleek and very stealthy. The Pax 3 is simple to use and is always a good conversation piece. The Pax 3 performs well, tastes good but will not provide the performance and flavour of the Firefly 2. If you've already owned a Pax or a Pax 2 and looking for something with a little more technique and performance I suggest going for a Firefly 2. If you're after the coolest latest product thats going to turn heads and knock off your socks then get yourself a Pax 3.
